This much anticipated hospital is now a reality, opening its doors to treat elective surgery patients, as well as
providing rehabilitation, palliative care, renal dialysis, imaging and pathology services.
Casey Hospital is an exciting development for the local community and will provide quality health care for
residents of the City of Casey and the Shire of Cardinia, close to where they live.

Fully operational, the hospital employs around 7000 staff and performs more than 3000 operations each year.
A wide range of specialty surgery will be undertaken including breast surgery, plastic and reconstructive
surgery, orthopedic surgery, and urology surgery.

The hospital includes:
· 28 emergency department beds providing 24-hour adult and paediatric emergency services to the
community;
· Four high dependency unit beds co-located with the emergency department;
· A 14 bed multipurpose day treatment facility providing a range of medical and surgical procedures;
· A 35 bed rehabilitation and aged service inpatient unit and;
· A 25 bed inpatient mental health unit to provide a safe, secure, therapeutic and restorative environment
for patients.

It also includes more than $20 million in state-of-the art medical, surgical and communications equipment.

The Cranbourne Day Centre is part of the Southern Health Network.

All associated admissions to this Day Centre are overseen by Dandenong Hospital.

All patient information will be forward to DDH and they will make all the necessary arrangements.

Your surgery will be preformed at Cranbourne only if it is a stipulated Day Case and the patient has a
fit bill of health.

Certain operations cannot be done at this location, please enquire with your surgeon’s rooms.

Dandenong Hospital is one of Melbourne's major acute hospitals providing a range of services to the people
living in Dandenong and surrounding areas.

It provides acute hospital services, aged and rehabilitation inpatient services, community and home care, and
inpatient and community mental health.

These services are provided on many sites including Dandenong Hospital, Monash Medical Centre (Clayton),
Monash Medical Centre (Moorabbin), the Kingston Centre, Cranbourne Integrated Care Centre, Greater
Dandenong Community Health Service and Cardinia-Casey Community Health Service.

Patients do not have bedside phones. Limited message service is available. Some wards have mobile phones.
To protect the confidentiality of medical information, only your closest relatives and people specifically
nominated by you will be given more than the usual statement regarding your health.

St John of God Hospital, Berwick was formed on 1 September 2003 after Berwick Hospital Incorporated
merged with St John of God Health Care. The hospital is located in Melbourne's south-eastern growth corridor,
approximately 40 kilometres from the Central Business District.
St John of God Health Care Berwick's team of dedicated caregivers is committed to providing a high quality
of care and service to meet individual and community needs.
The 39-bed hospital has been part of the local community since 1939 and provides a range of services
including maternity, medical, surgical, hyperbaric medicine and consulting suites to approximately 8,000
patients a year

Pre-Admission

Before your admission date you will need to bring your completed admission form, along
with your Medicare Card and health insurance details, to the hospital and give it to our preadmission nurse,
who will discuss your medical history and health cover details with you. This gives you an opportunity to ask
questions about your admission and makes sure your admission and care go as smoothly as possible.

What to Bring:

On admission day, please bring the following:
- All forms, letters and requests from your doctor.
- Medications, in original packaging, which will be stored and administered from your bedside locker.
- If your doctor alters your medications during your stay, new medications will be supplied by the hospital
pharmacy as will further supply of regular medications (prescribed prior to admission).
These will be charged to you at similar rates to your community pharmacy.
- Night clothes, dressing gown, slippers, underwear and toiletries.
- Hair dryer and reading material, if required.
- Bedside lockers are available for small items.

We advise you not to bring jewellery, other valuables or large amounts of cash, as we cannot accept liability
for them.

Facilities

The Valley Private Hospital is part of a 240 bed facility and offers dedicated surgical and medical wards
to manage and cater for a wide range of patients with greater efficiency and attention to detail.
We have a highly trained team in a well run Emergency Department. Our operating theatres and short stay
unit are well furnished with much of the most up to date equipment and staffed with experienced, permanent
nursing employees.We also have an 12 bed critical care unit for patients requiring specialized care and one
on one nursing.

The Valley also offers a large range of additional services that compliment and enhance our service provision
to our hospital users.We have a Breast Cancer support group that provides a wonderful role for many people
in the community including patient carers, family and medical practitioners.

Our lap banding service in conjunction with Eastern Surgical Group, provides a full range of service
to our clients in a caring, understanding environment that includes a monthly support network group.
We have an inhouse physiotherapist for further care during a stay to assist in your recovery.
Other services include Stomal Therapy, an onsite Pharmacy and also onsite Pathology and Radiology,
cardiac rehab, dietitian and speech pathology.
